GCSE English Language
The GCSE English Language course is designed to develop practical and creative communication skills by challenging students to read thoughtfully, write clearly, and speak with confidence. Unlike English Literature, which uses pre-studied books, this course focuses on the analysis of unseen fiction and non-fiction texts from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries to assess how writers use language and structure to influence readers. Students are evaluated on their ability to produce high-quality original writing, ranging from imaginative narratives to transactional pieces like persuasive letters or speeches, with a heavy emphasis on technical accuracy in spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
