About Me

As a graduate of English Literature and Creative Writing, I see GCSE English as so much more than just a set of exams; it is the moment you transition from being a passive reader to a conscious architect of language. I love teaching this stage because I get to show students that the same "writer’s craft" we dissected in my degree—the rhythmic pulse of a Shakespearean soliloquy or the calculated tension in a modern novella—is a toolkit they can use for their own work. After more than fifteen years of working with young people within a secondary school, a tuition centre and online, there is a unique joy I feel in helping a student realise that "Language" and "Literature" aren't separate subjects, but two sides of the same coin: one teaches you how to deconstruct the world’s stories, and the other gives you the power to write your own.At The Home Academic is where the journey begins.
